Tracy never thought that she would work in the construction industry. However, shortly after being hired by the owner of a construction contractor, she really couldn’t see herself in any other business! A graduate of the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Management, she has now been working in the industry going on eight years. Starting as a supervisor in the accounting office company management saw value in her abilities and skills, that far exceeded her current responsibilities. She moved within the company to a newly created business development department where she prepared business development materials such as proposals to acquire work and developing advertisements. Tracy was promoted to project coordinator, then to project manager, and eventually to area manager. During her career she has worked on projects for Sandia National Laboratories, Los Alamos National Laboratory and a major computer chip manufacturer.
Now, as Process Manager, yet another new department within the company, Tracy is among other things responsible for specialized training of all project managers, engineers and coordinators. Tracy loves the variety of opportunity provided in the construction trade. She describes it as different all the time; different circumstances, different teams, different customers and contracts. She encourages the building trades for anyone who is looking for a great opportunity, a nice standard of living with the support of Union partnerships.
